Verba

An English, Spanish and Galician dictionary and conjugator for iOS. It works fully offline, made for learners in places without coverage. I created it end to end, from design to App Store launch, along with its website in three languages.

Rizoma

A site in Spanish, English and Galician for a coworking space in Monforte, with event pages and dark mode. It shares its colors and type with Rizoma's social posts: navy, stone, straw and moss on cream.

Linguas Tecidas

A three-language site for a language exchange group. Upcoming sessions are managed from a custom admin panel, no code needed, and the blog has its own RSS feed.

From one side to the other

Most of what I do happens in between. A business here and a customer from abroad want the same thing, but search for it in different words, and often in different languages. So I adapt each version of a website to its language instead of copying it word for word.

Support works much the same way. When something breaks, I tell the customer what happened in words they understand, and tell the technical team what broke with details they can use.

Who's behind it

Jimmy Baum

I studied linguistics and taught before moving into software support. I speak English and Spanish, and more Galician every day.

Estudio Tabula is based in the Ribeira Sacra. The name comes from the Latin "tabula", a tablet for writing on: everything in writing, and in order.
